I gave it a shot.

Wow, I have a great imagination. I had dreamed up this awesome blog where I would write about whatever’s going on and it would be witty and informative and everyone would love it. I’ve written three blog posts and I think I’m over it. I’m just not a writer, I’m more of a reader. Thanks everyone who took the time to stop by my blog. This will most likely be my last blog post.  From now on will enjoy reading other people's awesome blogs and leave the blogging to the experts.

Outdoor Party

I am not an ‘outside girl’. I don’t like to be hot, I don’t like bugs, I’m just better off indoors with my air conditioner and a good book.

We are having Zach’s birthday party at our house and I’m sure people are going to want to go outside onto the covered patio. We have been in this house for 7 months now and it’s pretty much empty out there.

So, I went outside to clean it up and it was Spider City. I am terrified of spiders. Even the tiny ones. I am so happy I could get over my fear of them and get it all cleaned up out there. I have been doing some research online and read Orange Guard is a great spider repellant. So, I’m going to stock up on that stuff.

I’m really looking forward to his party. I just found a table and chairs set on Craigslist for $25. I’m going to look at it in person this weekend. I think it’s super cute and will be great for extra seating. We have a two seater table right now in our dining room, so we can move that outside.

I’m going to keep cleaning the outside area and spraying for spiders because Zach loves to play out there. He brought out a bunch of toys today and had a blast. He’s playing out there right now as I type this.

So, I can already tell he is going to be an outdoorsy boy, so I guess I better get use to being outside if I ever want to see my son. I think I can do it, it’s worth it to see his happy face.

Halloween Crafts

Thanks to Pinterest there are lots of Halloween crafts I would like to try out this year. Some of my top picks are…

EYES IN THE BUSHES – Use toilet paper rolls, cut out eyes, put a glow stick inside and hide in the bushes. This is a really cute idea for Halloween night.

HANGING BATS – Cut out a bat shape on black construction paper, fold it, poke holes in the tale for an upside down bat or in the wings and head for one that’s right side up, then hang from the ceiling with painters tape or removable hooks. It looks awesome.

JACK O LANTERN WITH SNAKES – Carve out some pumpkins and decorate with rubber snakes. Pretty Scary Looking!

EVIL VAMPIRE MINI PUMPKIN – Use a little pumpkin and cut out a piece big enough to fit a pair of those plastic vampire teeth in. Looks adorably scary.

Some Party Food Ideas…

WITCHES BROOMSTICKS – A Reese’s peanut butter cup with a flat pretzel stem

PUMPKIN DIP - Cool whip, vanilla pudding mix, and a can of pumpkin pie filling. Inside a hollowed out pumpkin with sliced apples and vanilla wafers for dipping.

TOMBSTONE PUDDING – Chocolate pudding in a  clear cup, crushed oreo cookie, and a cookie with RIP piped onto it. Super cute idea.

SCREAMING RED PUNCH - 1 new rubber surgical glove, 2 quarts apple juice, 2 quarts cranberry juice, and 2 liters ginger ale.

1. Rinse the glove inside and out several times with cold water to make sure it doesn’t have any powder coating. Fill with water and tie the wrist tightly closed with a twist tie. Freeze solid.

2. Mix the juices and ginger ale in a large punch bowl. Cut the glove carefully off the hand and fingers with a sharp scissors and float the molded hand in the punch.

Ready for October!

Who else is super excited for October?

It’s my first Halloween in our new house, so I can decorate our yard. My mom got me some really cute decorations so I’m ready to put them up. I’m ready to start shopping for Halloween decorations. I want to get a bin to keep in the attic for each major holiday and pull them out to decorate whith each year.

This is the first Halloween that Zach will understand what’s going on and we are going to take him out trick or treating. Last year we got him a dragon costume and took him to the apartment’s clubhouse Halloween party, but we didn’t go trick or treating because he was going through a phase where he was really scared of people and we didn’t think it would be a good idea. But this year I really think he's going to have a blast!

Of course there’s also Zach’s 3rd birthday and we are having the party at our house this year and I’m really looking forward to it. I just ordered his gifts and decorations from Amazon yesterday, so I’ve got that done.  I think he’s really going to enjoy having a party with his family visiting us and getting gifts and cake.

The weather is going to start getting better. Winter is my favorite, so were getting closer! I love to go outside and not be miserably hot. I also really like to wear long sleeve shirts with jeans and boots.

Zach is going to start Preschool in October after his birthday. I’m excited and nervous about it. I think it will be great for him to play with other kids and learn new things.

So, there is a lot to look forward to! Come on October!
